BURNT PODCAST
NaPodPoMo 2020
OMG!! It’s already NaPodPoMo time again. When podcasters attempt to put out one podcast episode a day for each day of November, Okay, so - let’s just get this out of the way… I’m not going to even try it this year. I tried it last year, and I already know - I’ll never make it.
Until today, it had already been months since I put a new episode of my regular podcast, Tales of the Road Warriors. I I can’t do an episode of that once a week, I sure as hell can’t upload a fresh episode of It’s Easy When You Know Hal every single day. So, I just thought I’d start November with a new episode of both podcasts, make everyone a little happier in this shit show of an election year and maybe update you a little bitt on what’s coming your way from me.
For starters, I’ve begun making videos with a beautiful, funny lady, Renée Yaworski. She had contacted me through the Tales of the Road Warriors website contact form while doing research on Peter Tork of the Monkees, I had just released a Peter Tork Tribute episode on my podcast, and she was doing research about hime for a book she’s writing. We ended up talking for a long time and eventually became Facebook friends. Turns out she’s also an actress and has been taking acting classes. On thing led to another, and me being the hammy cornball that I am, began doing some bits with her on Skype. So look out for some upcoming video clips. We call our show Wiggin’ Out! It’s silly but fun. There should be a new video up in the next day or two.
Next - Let’s talk about Tales of the Road Warriors. I just dropped my latest episode and my guest is Essra Mohawk. If it weren’t for her car taking a wrong turn o the way to her gig at Woodstock - umm, yeah - THAT Woodstock… she may have been a household word like most of the rest of the artists that performed that infamous weekend at that infamous rock festival.
Other guests I have on deck are Robert “Smokey” Miles host of a pretty respectable cable music show. He’s also known to many as Count Smokula, host of a comedy sketch show where he had a cult following and is known to hang out with very beautiful women, including Elvira, Mistress of the Dark.
Then I talked to “The man of 10,000 voices and sound effects” - Michael Winslow, known for his rolls in Cheech and Chong movies, Space Balls, and all the Police Academy movies Michael and I worked together at a restaurant many moons ago, and I got to recall some hilarious moments of the past with him. We also talked about some of his latest projects. You’re gonna want to check this out.
Now regarding this podcast. You probably thought I had forgotten completely about it. And just when you need it the most. When half of your Facebook friends blocked you for posting that innocent meme. And you blocked the other half for making nasty comments under it. As I am recording this, it is the evening before Election Day. The entire country is polarized and it seems like we may be on the verge of a civil war. You’re already considering hoarding paper goods, canned meat and flashlight batteries again. Well, I’m here to tell you, I can’t predict how things are gong to turn out in the end, But if you’re looking for a calming voice and a sense of humor when you need it the most, you’ve come to the right place. Because I’m here to focus on the positive and hopefully offer a distraction to all the madness. Just subscribe to this podcast, the Tales of the Road Warriors podcast and check out the Wiggin’ Out clips on Youtube.
Oh and on a final note, as I was type this, I smelled something burning. That’s because I had decided to heat up some chicken soup to eat after I finished typing this episode. If you go to the show notes page for this episode, you’ll see the photo of the actual soup I never got to enjoy.
